Psicon Ltd, a specialist neurodevelopmental service dedicated to supporting individuals across the lifespan, is seeking Clinical Psychologists to join their growing Independent Clinician Network. This opportunity is ideal for HCPC-registered psychologists with a passion for neurodiversity, who share Psicon’s core values of trust, integrity, commitment, and kindness.
The role involves conducting comprehensive autism spectrum disorder (ASD) developmental histories and ADHD assessments for both children (3–18 years) and adults (18+). Depending on qualifications, there are opportunities to undertake ADOS-2 assessments. Clinical Psychologists will observe and engage clients with empathy, review ADOS reports and collateral information from home, school, or observers, and integrate findings to formulate accurate diagnoses. Candidates will provide clear, compassionate feedback to families and individuals, including tailored recommendations and signposting to support services.
Psychologists will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team (MDT) during planned clinics and follow-up sessions, ensuring a holistic approach to assessment and diagnosis. High-quality diagnostic reports must be completed within 48 hours of assessment, with administrative support provided for formatting and quality checks.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct ASD developmental histories using NICE guideline-compliant tools.
Perform ADHD assessments for children, young people, and adults.
Undertake ADOS-2 assessments if appropriately trained.
Observe and engage clients with compassion, ensuring age-appropriate communication.
Review reports, developmental history, and collateral data for accurate diagnosis.
Provide feedback sessions and signpost to appropriate services.
Work within MDT clinics and follow-up cases as required.
Produce detailed diagnostic reports within 48 hours post-assessment.
Request onward referrals in line with NHS Trust/ICB protocols.
Requirements:
HCPC-registered Clinical Psychologist.
Experience in ASD and ADHD assessments across age groups.
Familiarity with tools such as Conners, ADI-R, DIVA-5, CAARS, QB testing.
ADOS-2 training desirable.
Strong commitment to clinical excellence and neurodiversity.
Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
