Description:
This is a full-time role for a Clothing Technologist, based in London. The Clothing Technologist will oversee garment construction, evaluate quality control processes, participate in fittings, and work collaboratively to ensure product excellence.
The role includes :-
- Reporting to the Technical Manager and working alongside the Account Managers and Designers.
- Risk assessment of all confirmed orders in line with customer and European standards
- Work closely with the Designer in creating development specs and advising any safety issues.
- Managing the fit process from Initial samples through to production, making sure they meet the customers standards
- Arranging and attending fit meetings with the customers, conducting these over VC or face to face
- Maintaining and updating accurate customer records and critical paths
- Working closely with the factories ensuring accurate and concise comments are communicated and followed throughout.
- Clear communication with the customer and factories, following up queries.
- Understanding the customer testing process. Setting up TRF’s and submitting information through their online platforms.
- Test report analysis and submission to customers and an understanding of fabric performance requirements
- Managing the critical path to ensure on time deliveries
- Checking daily for inspection reports and advising factories how to proceed
- Checking Gold Seal samples, gathering relevant documents/certificates and approving in time for shipments
Qualifications
- Childrenswear experience preferable
- Strong knowledge of Garment Construction and Fitting processes
- Ability to perform thorough Quality Control checks and maintain industry standards
- Experience in working with Textiles, including material properties and fabric selection
- Excellent Communication skills for collaboration across teams and suppliers
- Attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and proficiency in relevant software tools
- Degree or diploma in Textile Technology, Fashion Technology, or a related field is preferred
- Previous experience in a similar role within the fashion or textile manufacturing industry is a plus
