Club Operations Manager

Description:

Market Harborough Rugby Club, a vibrant community sports organization with four senior teams and a thriving mini and junior section, is seeking an enthusiastic and capable Club Operations Manager. This part-time position offers a fantastic opportunity to lead the day-to-day management of the club’s clubhouse, bar, facilities, and grounds.

The successful candidate will report to the Chairperson and take ownership of operations, ensuring a welcoming and efficient environment for players, members, and guests. Your responsibilities will include bar management, staffing, event planning and marketing, and ensuring health, safety, and licensing compliance.

Ideal candidates will have previous experience in bar, club, or hospitality management, although full training will be provided. A flexible, positive, and hands-on attitude is essential, especially during the active rugby season (September to May), with work mainly during evenings and weekends.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the daily operations of the club, bar, facilities, and grounds

• Create a welcoming environment for all guests and members

• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and order throughout the premises

• Promote club facilities and grow membership through marketing and events

• Ensure adherence to health and safety and licensing laws

• Handle budgets, financial reporting, and customer complaints

• Lead and supervise bar staff effectively

Job Type: Part-time
Hours: Approx. 25 hours per week, 6 days a week including evenings and weekends
Start Date: Immediate start available for the right candidate

Required Skills & Experience:

• Prior experience managing a bar or sports club (preferred)

• Background in the food and beverage industry (preferred)

• Excellent communication and supervisory skills

• Ability to work independently under pressure

• Driving licence is essential
