Description:
As a Commercial Finance Director in the Education division, you will be responsible for the financial performance of the UK business, providing financial leadership, business partnering and ensuring effective and efficient financial and commercial management. You will be a member of the Education Finance Leadership Team (FLT) and the UK Senior Management Team (SMT) and will provide insight into business performance and recommend actions to improve results and achieve business goals.
Key duties include:
- Provide high quality and proactive finance leadership to the UK, supporting the MD and their SMT in the delivery of the commercial agenda for the business.
- Work as part of the SMT to devise and deliver strategy, including deciding upon the appropriate allocation of resources and targeted investments.
- Lead or support (as appropriate) key deals such as major commercial contracts, partnerships, and M&A.
- Hold the business to account for major product launches, ensuring appropriate mechanisms are in place to track and deliver return on investment.
- Responsible for the delivery of the annual planning cycle, including five-year plan and budget.
- Responsible for the financial considerations required in investment decision making and for ensuring major commercial decisions taken within the business are made with sound commercial judgement, clear assumptions and following robust supporting analysis.
- Work as a member of the UK SMT to lead, motivate and support the staff of the UK business.
- As a member of the Education Finance Leadership Team, work collaboratively to develop the divisional finance organization.
- Partner with group functions, such as Tax and Legal where there are significant implications for any project, initiative or commercial situation.
