Communications Manager

Description:

This is an exciting permanent opportunity for a talented communications professional. If you enjoy providing both strategic and hands-on communications support and are ready for a new challenge, this could be the opportunity you have been waiting for.

Improvement Cymru is the national improvement service for NHS Wales delivered by Public Health Wales. Our goal is to work with NHS Wales and its partner organisations to achieve sustainable, measurable improvements so that the services offered to patients are safer, more effective and timely.

You’ll be joining an ambitious team, comprising some of the most qualified, experienced Improvement professionals in health and social care in Wales. Together, we lead, embed and champion Improvement across Wales – drawing on international best practice and evidence. As part of our new direction, we want to strengthen our team by recruiting new team members from diverse backgrounds with a mix of skills, personalities and experiences – considering candidates from both an NHS background as well as other sectors. Interested candidates are encouraged to contact the role recruitment manager to discuss the role further if they have any queries.

The successful applicant will be a critical part of our communications team. You will develop, implement and evaluate a range of communications activities to support our all-Wales improvement programmes. For example this may include developing campaigns, social media, news stories, blogs and communications packs.

We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic communications professional who enjoys being part of a team and is keen to use their skills to play a key role in the delivery of innovative healthcare communications.

Public Health Wales is the National Public Health Institute in Wales. Our vision is 'Working to achieve a healthier future for Wales' where we play a pivotal role in driving improvements in population health and well-being, reducing health inequalities, improving healthcare outcomes, protecting the public and supporting the development of health in all policies across Wales.

Our organisation is guided by our Values, 'Working together, with trust and respect, to make a difference'. We are committed to creating an inclusive workplace that values equality, diversity and inclusion. We welcome applications which represent the rich diversity of the communities we serve and from those wishing to work part time or on a job share basis.
