Community Lead

Description:

We’re looking for someone who’s excited about the Home Office’s role in creating cutting-edge digital services and the opportunity to support the people who build them.

As a Community Lead, you will be responsible for understanding and meeting the needs of our Data community of practice. Working closely with the SCS (Senior Civil Service) Sponsor for Data and Head of Role, you will foster and promote the community, developing and empowering members through knowledge-sharing, training and events. You will also help set and realise the standards and behaviours we all want to see.

You will manage the channels where members share ideas and discuss best practice. You will also organise and run a range of meetings and activities, sometimes working with colleagues in other departments to arrange or facilitate cross-government events.

You will help ensure new staff receive an induction and are aware of community-related resources and activities. You will also identify, develop and oversee training and development opportunities in order to build skills and capability across the department.

You will need to work with senior managers to understand resourcing requirements and support efforts to attract, recruit and retain the people we need. This means you will need to develop strong working relationships with stakeholders across communities and functions to support them with issues relating to workforce planning, recruitment, pay and reward, people and capability development and the sharing of best practice.

Hybrid working enables employees to work partly in their workplace(s) and partly at home in line with the Home Office Hybrid Working policy. A hybrid working pattern may be available, where business needs allow for this role. Applicants can discuss what this means with the vacancy holder if they have specific questions on what this entails.
