Community Mental Health Nurse

NHS Dumfries & Galloway is seeking a Registered Mental Health Nurse (Band 5) to join the Stewartry Community Mental Health Nursing Team based in Castle Douglas. This is a fixed-term contract beginning on Monday 3rd November for 12 months.

The role involves working with individuals who present with moderate to severe mental health issues, providing assessment, advice, therapeutic interventions, and ongoing support to promote recovery, sustained wellbeing, and self-management. The postholder will work closely with patients, carers, and colleagues across health, social care, and third-sector services, requiring excellent communication and the ability to develop strong therapeutic relationships.

Candidates must demonstrate the knowledge, clinical skills, and professional competence required to work effectively within a busy team and ensure safe, effective assessment and care delivery. A valid Registered Mental Health Nurse qualification and NMC PIN are essential.
