MERJE is seeking a Compliance Business Partner to join a collaborative and high-performing compliance team within a market-leading financial services organization. This role offers the opportunity to provide practical, strategic, and regulatory guidance while contributing to the firm’s ongoing growth and success. The position plays a vital part in ensuring that regulatory obligations are met while aligning with business goals and strategic initiatives.

The successful candidate will have strong expertise in FCA regulations, including COBS, COLL, and Consumer Duty, and the ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into actionable business solutions. This role provides a blend of autonomy, exposure, and development within a supportive and forward-thinking team environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Regulatory Advisory: Provide practical, timely, and business-focused compliance advice, ensuring regulatory requirements are met without hindering strategic objectives.

  • Consumer Duty Implementation: Support the ongoing embedding of the Consumer Duty framework across the organization, promoting best practices and customer-centric outcomes.

  • Regulatory Analysis: Monitor, review, and interpret regulatory developments, assessing potential impacts and ensuring the business adapts effectively.

  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal teams, representing the Compliance function in key projects, meetings, and committees.

  • Product Governance: Support and enhance the Product Governance framework, ensuring effective oversight of product lifecycle and customer outcomes.

  • Marketing and Communication Oversight: Review and approve financial promotions, advertisements, and customer communications to ensure compliance with FCA standards.

  • Training & Awareness: Deliver training sessions, contribute to e-learning materials, and provide regulatory updates to enhance compliance awareness across the organization.

  • Reporting & Governance: Assist in preparing management information (MI) and reports for governance committees and senior leadership.

  • Operational Oversight: Provide compliance support on areas such as CASS (Client Assets Sourcebook) and vulnerable customer management.

  • External Representation: Represent the organization in relevant industry and regulatory forums, maintaining awareness of best practices and emerging risks.


Skills & Experience Required:

  • Strong experience in compliance roles within FCA-regulated financial services, preferably within platforms, wealth management, or asset management.

  • In-depth knowledge of the FCA Handbook, particularly COBS, COLL, and Consumer Duty.

  • Degree and/or relevant professional compliance qualification (e.g., CISI, ICA, or similar) preferred.

  • Excellent analytical and interpretive skills, with the ability to simplify and communicate complex regulatory information.

  • Proven ability to influence and collaborate effectively across departments and at all organizational levels.

  • Strong organizational and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a professional and credible approach.

  • A proactive, team-oriented individual capable of balancing business objectives with compliance integrity.
