Description:
Galliford Try, one of the UK’s leading construction businesses, is seeking a Planner to join its dynamic team based in Solihull, covering projects throughout the West Midlands. As a Planner, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality planning and scheduling services across the entire project lifecycle—from tender to completion—ensuring adherence to Galliford Try’s planning standards, processes, and procedures. You will work on multiple tenders, pre-construction phases, and live projects, collaborating closely with key stakeholders to achieve project excellence.
Provide complete planning services at all stages—pre-qualification, pre-construction, and construction.
Develop detailed tender programmes, logistics proposals, and method statements for inclusion in tender submissions.
Review project documents, specifications, and scopes to identify key contract requirements and constraints.
Visit sites to assess conditions and constraints relevant to programme development.
Create detailed, fully integrated design, procurement, and construction stage contract programmes.
Identify and implement alternative methodologies and sequences to enhance project timelines.
Track progress, identify potential delays, and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.
Update contract programmes to reflect entitlement to Extensions of Time (EOT), where applicable.
Support the business with claims and disputes, ensuring proper documentation and compliance.
Mentor and develop junior team members where required.
Promote the company during tender and contract interviews, presentations, and client meetings.
Ensure all planning outputs are compliant with Galliford Try’s internal standards and procedures.
You are a reliable and skilled Planner with a strong construction background and a keen eye for project sequencing and efficiency. You understand the complexities of large-scale infrastructure and building projects and can balance technical accuracy with practical execution. Your ability to communicate effectively and manage multiple priorities ensures timely project delivery and stakeholder satisfaction.
