NHS Scotland is offering an exciting opportunity for a Consultant in Palliative Medicine to join the Fife Specialist Palliative Care Team based in Kirkcaldy. The role spans across specialist in-patient hospice services, community settings, and acute hospitals within Fife, providing the chance to make a meaningful impact on the quality of life for patients and families.
The successful applicant will join a supportive, highly motivated multidisciplinary team committed to delivering excellent palliative care. The role combines clinical leadership, direct patient care, and contribution to the continuing development of the palliative care service in Fife.
Applicants must hold full GMC registration, licence to practise, and be eligible for the GMC Specialist Register. UK-trained candidates should have evidence of higher specialist training leading to a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT), or be within six months of entry from the date of interview. Portfolio Pathway (CESR) applicants may apply only once full eligibility has been awarded. Equivalent training and experience will be considered for non-UK applicants.

Key Responsibilities:
Provide expert palliative care across hospice, community, and acute hospital settings.
Lead and support multidisciplinary teams to deliver patient-centred care.
Contribute to the ongoing development and quality improvement of palliative care services in Fife.
Engage in clinical governance, audit, and research activities to enhance service standards.
Supervise and support junior medical staff, nurses, and allied professionals.
Collaborate closely with patients, families, and carers, ensuring compassionate and holistic care.
