Description:

Manchester City Council is seeking a Contract Support Officer to join its growing Contracts Team within the Adults Directorate, operating as part of the Manchester Local Care Organisation (MLCO). This position plays a critical role in supporting front-line services that deliver improved health and care outcomes for the residents of Manchester.

In this hybrid, full-time role (35 hours/week), the successful candidate will be embedded in a dynamic and diverse city-focused environment. The position offers an opportunity for individuals to gain hands-on experience in contract drafting, negotiation, and management. This is an ideal role for recent graduates or experienced professionals seeking to contribute to meaningful work while gaining valuable public sector exposure.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the drafting, negotiation, and management of contracts across community health and social care services

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the Contracts Team inbox

  • Assist with internal coordination and project-based administrative tasks

  • Gather information and conduct research to support contract-related processes

  • Contribute to improving operational models and team efficiency

  • Liaise with a range of stakeholders to uphold strong internal and external communication

  • Maintain records and documentation in line with local government standards
