Conveyancing Assistant

 

Description:

WorkwithYorkshire is recruiting on behalf of a reputable law firm in Leeds, seeking a dedicated Conveyancing Assistant to join their team in a full-time, permanent capacity. This role offers the opportunity to work within a professional legal environment and contribute to the smooth running of conveyancing transactions. The position is primarily on-site, with flexibility to work from home one day per week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence related to conveyancing cases

  • Provide general administrative support in conveyancing matters

  • Manage filing systems: daily filing, opening/closing case files, storing and retrieving client documentation

  • Under supervision, assist fee earners by drafting simple correspondence and taking detailed client instructions

  • Manage post-completion processes including lodging applications with the Land Registry and filing with HMRC for Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT)

  • Maintain the confidentiality and security of both firm and client documentation

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Prior experience working in conveyancing or a similar legal environment

  • Strong organizational abilities and excellent attention to detail

  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills

  • Skilled in using Microsoft Office and legal software

  • Capable of working independently as well as collaboratively in a team
