Description:
Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation based in Edinburgh, is seeking an experienced Corporate Support Manager for an initial 6-month contract, with the possibility of extension. This role involves supporting hybrid working but requires regular attendance at the Edinburgh office.
The successful candidate will work closely with the lead Corporate Support Manager to manage and monitor Freedom of Information (FOI) and Environmental Information Regulation (EIR) requests. This includes liaising with internal teams to ensure timely provision of required information, overseeing redaction processes, drafting responses, and ensuring full compliance with GDPR, FOI, and EIR legislation.
Collaborate with the lead Corporate Support Manager to oversee FOI and EIR request handling.
Ensure timely collection and submission of relevant information by coordinating with staff.
Manage and monitor the redaction process for sensitive information, maintaining compliance with GDPR, FOI, and EIR.
Strategically apply exemptions and public interest tests; provide regulatory guidance to teams.
Draft and coordinate timely responses to FOI/EIR requests in line with legislative requirements.
Issue and track acknowledgment letters for incoming requests.
Provide strategic oversight on staff contributions to casework, ensuring deadlines and accountability.
Establish and promote best practices for workflow monitoring and operational efficiency.
Monitor FOI requests and corporate mailboxes.
Extensive knowledge and practical experience handling FOI and Environmental Information (Scotland) Regulations requests.
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities to organise diverse information supporting decision-making.
Proactive attitude with the ability to identify gaps and develop effective solutions.
Excellent organisational skills, able to prioritise workloads efficiently.
Experience with case management systems or planning tools.
Proven ability to redact documents accurately, adhering to legal and regulatory standards.
Experience managing or mentoring staff.
Previous experience working in a public sector corporate or policy team.
Familiarity with ministerial correspondence and complaint responses.
Good understanding of GDPR and data protection principles.
Experience coordinating responses to complex complaints and implementing Complaints Handling Procedures in line with SPSO legislative requirements.
