Description:

Pick Everard is seeking a knowledgeable and enthusiastic Cost Manager to join their growing multi-disciplinary consultancy in Greater London. This role is ideal for someone currently working as an Assistant or Cost Manager who is ready for the next step and eager to work on a broad spectrum of dynamic and impactful projects across various sectors including education, healthcare, heritage, commercial, retail, residential, and defence.

As a Cost Manager, you will be an integral part of a collaborative national team with the opportunity to grow within a well-established organization that has been delivering high-quality, client-focused projects for over 160 years. The position involves working on projects ranging in value from £5 million to £250 million, including engagements under local authority and national government frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare cost estimates, bills of quantities, contract documents, and detailed reports.

  • Manage client relationships and ensure timely delivery of commissions.

  • Take charge of job resourcing and oversee project programming and planning.

  • Provide support and mentorship to junior colleagues.

  • Attend design team meetings and advise on cost control strategies.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in cost management within a consultancy.

  • Strong knowledge of JCT and NEC3 standard forms of building contracts.

  • Ability to handle both feasibility and detailed cost planning.

  • Excellent communication, report writing, and client engagement skills.

Desirable Attributes:

  • Chartered status (or actively pursuing).

  • Record of continuous professional development (CPD).

  • Strong track record of performance and tenure in previous roles.
