Counselling Psychologist

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Clinical/Counselling Psychologist or a Senior CBT Therapist /Psychotherapist to join our multi-disciplinary team. This is a full time, permanent role.

EMERGE Leeds: Complex Emotional Needs Service works in partnership with community and third sector services in Leeds, to enhance the offer of care to 18-25 year olds. In particular, we work alongside young people who, often as a consequence of trauma, adversity, and the misuse of power, have developed ways of coping and surviving that cause them harm and distress.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for a psychological therapist who is creative, flexible and able to engage effectively with the challenging interpersonal dynamics inherent in the work.

We would welcome applicants who have an interest/ are trained in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). The role will involve contributing to the DBT team as well as the wider psychological work and supervision of the EMERGE Leeds service.

EMERGE Leeds is part of the Leeds Personality Disorder Services, which actively maintains a reflective, supportive learning culture.

The office base is situated at Poplar House, St. Mary’s Hospital. Travel by car is required within the Leeds area on a regular basis. However, we have a hybrid working policy, and there will be a mix of office and home based working.
