Description:
SMC-Design is seeking a Creative Interior Designer to join their London studio, specializing in high-end marine interior design projects such as hotels and cruise ships. The ideal candidate should have experience in delivering detailed design packages for large-scale commercial projects, with a strong background in hospitality, retail, and commercial design. This role requires impeccable organizational, research, and communication skills, along with a passion for delivering exceptional design.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead design projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to brand ideals.
Develop conceptual designs, incorporating color, texture, and detailed design execution.
Use CAD software fluently in 2D and 3D to communicate design intent, and knowledge of Vectorworks is a plus.
Select materials, finishes, and provide detailed FF&E (Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment) schedules.
Prepare and present visual design packages for clients and artists.
Manage internal deadlines, schedules, and project workflow efficiently.
Deliver designs with strong narrative links to brand ideals, and communicate concepts effectively to others.
Requirements:
6+ years of post-graduate experience in interior design, with a focus on hospitality/retail.
Proficiency in CAD software, with knowledge of Vectorworks an advantage.
Advanced skills in Photoshop, SketchUp, and MS Office.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and visual, with the ability to present at a high level.
Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Evidence of successful design leadership and portfolio showcasing design execution and development.
