Credit Control Lead

The successful candidate will oversee credit management functions, ensuring the smooth and efficient handling of client accounts. You will take responsibility for managing the collection of outstanding payments, implementing process improvements, and fostering positive working relationships with both internal stakeholders and customers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and execute the complete credit control process from start to finish.

• Monitor customer accounts, ensuring payments are made within agreed terms.

• Create and manage payment plans tailored to client needs.

• Maintain and regularly update client accounts, ensuring accuracy in BACS statements, remittance advice, and credit card receipts.

• Issue regular account statements to customers and internal departments to maintain transparency.

• Perform credit checks and due diligence on new credit applications.

• Prepare and distribute invoices and financial reports for both clients and the sales department.

• Lead month-end invoicing and reconciliation processes to ensure timely financial reporting.

• Proactively resolve any customer disputes or queries regarding invoicing and payments.

• Identify opportunities to improve and streamline credit control processes for efficiency and accuracy.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, sales, and operations, to ensure effective cash flow management.

Requirements and Qualifications:

• Proven experience in credit control or accounts receivable management.

• Strong understanding of credit processes, financial documentation, and customer account management.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues.

• High attention to detail and strong organisational abilities.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel) and familiarity with financial software or ERP systems.

• Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively.

• A proactive, problem-solving mindset with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Salary: £30000 - £40000 per year (approx. £2500 - £3333 per month)

• Work Schedule: Hybrid (office-based during training period, then flexible working)

• Annual Leave: 28 days holiday
