Criminology Tutor

Description:

Tutors Green is seeking a dedicated and experienced A Level Criminology Tutor to deliver high-quality, in-person tuition in the Hackney area. The role is ideal for educators passionate about supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) requirements.

The successful candidate will have a strong track record in A Level Criminology and demonstrate adaptability, empathy, and excellent communication skills to effectively support and motivate students with diverse learning needs. The tutoring sessions will be one hour per day, Monday to Friday during school hours (9 am – 3 pm), starting September 2025 and concluding at the end of the A Level exam season.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging and personalised 1:1 or small group A Level Criminology tuition

• Tailor lesson plans to students’ specific educational needs and academic levels

• Identify and overcome barriers to learning for individual students

• Monitor and report on student progress to the Tuition Programmes Manager

• Maintain current knowledge of A Level curriculum standards and expectations

• Create a safe, supportive, and positive learning environment

Requirements:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

• At least 2 years of relevant tutoring or teaching experience

• Proven experience working with SEN and SEMH students

• Ability to adjust teaching approaches based on different learning styles

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Right to be self-employed in the UK
