Description:
Mears Group PLC is seeking a highly motivated and organised Customer Service Advisor to join their team in Cottenham, Cambridge. This role plays a vital part in ensuring excellent service delivery to tenants and clients by managing enquiries, coordinating repairs, and handling administrative tasks.
As a Customer Service Advisor, you will be the first point of contact for tenants, responsible for answering calls regarding repairs, appointments, and general service-related queries. You will manage email correspondence from clients, raise jobs, order materials from suppliers, and follow up with subcontractors to ensure smooth progress of ongoing work. The position demands strong organisational skills, multitasking ability, and effective communication to maintain high service standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Handle incoming calls and queries from tenants regarding repairs and appointments.
Manage administrative tasks including email communications with clients.
Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors for material orders and work updates.
Raise jobs and track their progress, ensuring timely follow-up.
Provide accurate information and maintain clear communication with all stakeholders.
Role Criteria:
Prior experience in customer service, ideally within housing or a call centre environment.
IT literate with good working knowledge of computer systems.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to multitask and remain organised under pressure.
Eligibility to work in the UK (visa sponsorship not available).
Must meet driving requirements if operating a Mears vehicle (over 21, licence held for 3+ months, less than 9 penalty points).
Willingness to undergo relevant DBS/security checks before employment.
