Cyber Security Architect

As a Cyber Security Architect, you will lead the development of security requirements and controls across products, systems, and processes to ensure secure product launches and ongoing operations. Your role will blend technical expertise with governance, threat mapping, and risk management. Working alongside development teams and other architects, you will advocate for privacy and security by design principles, performing comprehensive security architectural reviews of applications during development and integration phases.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead end-to-end cybersecurity solution projects, including architecture, design, and process development aligned with vendor best practices.

• Provide expert advice and guidance on cyber security detection and response solutions at architectural and organizational levels.

• Monitor policy adherence, raise exceptions appropriately, and ensure senior management is informed of risks and remediation plans.

• Collaborate with various stakeholders to implement effective information security controls and engage in risk assessments and gap analysis.

• Perform comprehensive information control reviews covering development standards, operating procedures, programming and communication controls, backup, disaster recovery, and maintenance.

• Conduct due diligence reviews (vendor assessments) on third parties to identify risks to business units.

• Define security testing requirements, including penetration test scoping, interpret results, and provide actionable feedback to stakeholders.

• Develop and manage key risk indicators, delivering clear communication on risk levels to stakeholders.

• Foster strong client relationships and identify business growth opportunities.

Essential Qualifications and Skills:

• Expertise in security architecture design for systems and infrastructure such as firewalls.

• Holder of a recognized, current security certification (e.g., CISSP, CISM).

• Proven experience managing operational security activities.

• Solid understanding of security regulatory and compliance frameworks including NIST CSF, ISO 27001, and GDPR.

• Experience advising software development teams and familiarity with agile delivery methodologies.

• Working knowledge of MS Azure cloud security in complex environments.

• Strong understanding of data architecture, web security, zero trust models, and low latency applications.

• Excellent communication, negotiation, and teamwork skills.

• Result-driven with good problem-solving, planning, and organizational abilities.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience:

• Experience designing security architecture within the retail sector.
