Dairy R&d Manager

A leading dairy business is seeking a Dairy R&D Manager to take on a high-profile, influential role in their expanding operations. As the Dairy R&D Manager, you will work on industry-leading innovation projects, guiding the business and shaping the future innovation pipeline. The role offers hybrid working with travel between sites and customers.

In this broad role, you will oversee the delivery of New Product Development (NPD), Existing Product Development (EPD), and Continuous Improvement projects. You will provide technical support and guidance to customers and the wider team while identifying opportunities to develop the product portfolio and drive growth. This could include developing business cases for investment in new production facilities or improving existing manufacturing capabilities.

The role reports to the Group Head of Development and involves working alongside a team of NPD Managers and NPD Technologists. You will be responsible for working on an impressive product portfolio seen on supermarket shelves, developing for leading global brands and retailers' own-label ranges.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver NPD, EPD, and Continuous Improvement projects
• Provide technical support and guidance to customers and the team
• Scope out the future R&D Innovation pipeline
• Develop the product portfolio into new areas/customers using knowledge of global trends in ingredient development and processing improvements
• Identify opportunities for new manufacturing capabilities and develop business cases for investment

Qualifications & Skills:

• Solid understanding of dairy formulation and processing principles
• Background in Food Science with experience in dairy product development
• Curious mindset and ability to explore new areas
• Willingness to travel between sites and customers
• Ideally based in the Midlands/Central England region (but not essential)
