Key Responsibilities

We are looking for outstanding, experienced geologists, engineers or surveyors with a strong leaning towards data-management and analysis in construction. GIS specialists or programmers will also be considered backed up by relevant experience.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3 years relevant post-education qualification experience with at least one year in a civil/construction related role, ideally covering data measurement and processing in construction preferably involving underground works.

They must have significant capabilities in IT and demonstrate the ability to manipulate data in a variety of ways. Demonstrable ability to write and run macros in excel or other such databases or spreadsheet environments will be an advantage. A strong spatial and geometrical capability will also be required.

Responsible for technical requests and instructions related to I&M matters.

Control of the technical aspects and the quality of the collection, processing, transferring and reporting of data provided by the main monitoring contractor.

Ability to observe of the Client’s Safety, Quality and Integrity values and directives.

Some of the duties you'll be doing...

  • Monitoring data analysis and interpretation.
  • Instrumentation and Monitoring.
  • Undertakings and assurances with Third Parties.
  • Installation and close-out reports.
  • Team and resources management.
  • GIS based monitoring software.
  • Auditing.
  • Tunneling.

Required Experience, Skills & Qualifications

  • A passion for data and its better use to promote efficiency and technical quality in engineering construction.
  • An active IT user and promoter with a high degree of IT literacy.
  • Civil, Geotechnical Engineering, Surveying, GIS, Mining Engineering degree.,
  • We will consider HND if focused on the above + construction, but only if a high degree of IT ability can be demonstrated.
  • A minimum of 3 years relevant post-education qualification experience with at least one year in a civil/construction related role, ideally covering data measurement and processing in construction preferably involving underground works.
  • Exposure to dealing with the needs of clients, consultants and contractors (with a clear understanding for the common and contrasting objectives of each).
  • A strong spatial and geometrical capability will also be required.
