Billigence, a globally recognized boutique data consultancy, is currently hiring a Data Governance Consultant to support clients in implementing robust data governance frameworks and ensuring optimal use of data assets in compliance with regulations and strategic goals. Headquartered in Sydney and with offices around the world, Billigence works with organizations to unlock the value of their data using cutting-edge technologies in business intelligence, data science, engineering, and governance.

As a Data Governance Consultant, you will be instrumental in leading clients through the design and execution of governance strategies that ensure regulatory compliance, data accuracy, integrity, and enhanced business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive Data Governance frameworks aligned with organizational objectives.

  • Act as a trusted advisor on data governance best practices and compliance, particularly with regard to regulations such as GDPR.

  • Champion the deployment and utilization of data governance tools like Collibra, Alteryx Connect, and Informatica.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders across business, legal, compliance, and IT functions.

  • Design training programs and support the onboarding of Data Owners and Stewards.

  • Identify risks and inefficiencies, implement mitigation strategies, and discover opportunities to improve data usage and reduce duplication.

  • Demonstrate and track the value delivered through governance initiatives.

  • Participate in internal innovation efforts, content development, and professional growth opportunities.

What You’ll Need:

  • Hands-on experience with data governance platforms (especially Collibra).

  • Strong grasp of governance policies, compliance issues, and organizational data management.

  • Effective stakeholder management and communication abilities at all levels.

  • Commitment to precision and high-quality outcomes in managing large or complex datasets.

  • Strategic thinking and capability to contribute to broader organizational governance initiatives.
