Description:
Linnaeus, a rapidly growing veterinary healthcare group and part of Mars Veterinary Health, is seeking a Data Governance Lead to drive improvements in data governance processes across the organization. This is a pivotal role that will support the company’s mission of making a better world for pets by ensuring accurate, consistent, and compliant data management practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement data governance policies, practices, and procedures to ensure data quality, consistency, and compliance.
- Act as the data governance expert, engaging with senior leadership and key stakeholders across Linnaeus, Mars Veterinary Healthcare, Mars Petcare, and external partners.
- Oversee data quality assurance metrics and ensure adherence to governance policies.
- Lead the creation and enhancement of metadata repository solutions and data dictionary improvements.
- Embed a strong data management culture by advocating data governance strategies and driving awareness.
- Collaborate with data owners and stewards to identify data quality challenges and implement data improvement plans.
- Stay updated with industry trends and incorporate innovative improvements into the data governance framework.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience in a technical data quality or governance role.
- Experience in designing and implementing data quality assurance processes.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience influencing at a senior level.
- Solid understanding of data governance frameworks, data stewardship, and data lifecycle management.
- Familiarity with data protection and privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
- Knowledge of data management technologies, databases, and data warehousing.
- Degree or professional qualification in a relevant field.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and remotely within an agile environment.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience using Power BI for reporting.
- Familiarity with metadata management tools for data profiling.
- Knowledge of the veterinary industry.
