Description:

A company specializing in sourcing and selling used books, with a mission to reduce landfill waste and offer affordable reading options, is expanding its data team. They currently manage over 500,000 used books weekly and offer a total product range of 6 million titles. The business currently turns over £13 million online with ambitious plans to reach £50 million by mid-2027.

They are hiring two Data Insight Analysts to join their existing data team of four. This role is key to personalizing the customer experience on their two brands—a B2C retail brand and a re-commerce brand—by leveraging data-driven insights and enhancing the customer journey through recommendation engines, segmentation, and pricing algorithms.


Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with data and tech teams to manage data pipelines across eCommerce platforms using GTM/GA4 tagging integrated into BigQuery

  • Combine multiple data streams from MarTech stacks via ETL processes to develop actionable insights for customer segmentation and personalization

  • Develop bespoke geographical pricing algorithms balancing supply, demand, and margin targets across regions

  • Analyze customer acquisition channels and calculate ROI and attribution using data from Google Analytics, Google Ads, Meta, Bing, and others

  • Support marketing teams to optimize customer loyalty programs, driving repeat purchases and increasing customer lifetime value

  • Create data-driven dashboards for teams to independently track and measure activity impact


Required Experience & Skills

  • Background in eCommerce with strong commercial awareness (profit margins, pricing experiments, ROI focus)

  • Proficient in GTM/GA4 for event tagging and auditing data capture accuracy

  • Skilled in SQL and ideally BigQuery or similar data warehousing technologies

  • PowerBI experience is advantageous but not mandatory

  • Comfortable extracting and manipulating large datasets


Bonus Skills

  • Experience with A/V and MVT platforms

  • Advanced Excel skills including macros and VBA

  • Python programming experience


What’s on Offer
