Data Privacy Lawyer

 

Description:

As Legal Counsel you will play a key role in providing legal support and guidance to the business on data protection matters.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert legal guidance on data protection and privacy matters, including GDPR compliance
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and policies related to data privacy.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess and mitigate privacy risks in product development, marketing, and data processing activities.
  • Conduct impact assessments and breach notifications.
  • Horizon scanning for data privacy laws and regulations in the UK and EU that can affect the business.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on data privacy matters, offering training and support to internal stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Qualified solicitor in England & Wales with a strong background in data privacy and protection laws
  • Minimum of 3 years of legal experience, with a focus on data privacy and GDPR compliance.
  • In-depth knowledge of UK and EU data privacy regulations and best practices.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • CIPP/E or CIPM certification is a plus.
