A day in the life of...

 

The purpose of the role is to lead and support a team of drivers, shunters or agency staff to ensure full utilization of own Fleet vehicles, providing 24/7 support to the operation. The role also includes planning, development and training of the wider Operations team to ensure a best in class, sustainable function that adds value. Responsible for the creation and implementation of process within the department. There are 2 shifts for this role, 6.00am-14.00 and 11.00am – 19.00 to ensure full cover.

 


Key responsibilities include:


 

  • Continually identifying ways to improve process efficiency and drive NCE practices across the team.
  • Being Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the team and ensure common practice (standard routines) and training are carried out to required level to ensure consistent approach in execution of process.
  • Ensuring day to day operational management and cover for 7-day operation is in place to required guidelines
  • Work closely with York vehicle workshops to ensure unit and trailers are available for periodic servicing, in line with terms set out in Operating license agreements. Using collated data for future asset planning.
  • Creating appropriate reports to support KPI's to support the OMP objectives.
  • Support the wider Operations Team.
  • Line Management
  • Lead projects on behalf of the Delivery Operations Manager
