Description:

Ofsted is seeking a Delivery Support Officer to join its Delivery Support Team based at Piccadilly Gate, Manchester. This position offers a unique opportunity to play a vital administrative and operational role in supporting Ofsted’s delivery functions, ensuring the effective and timely execution of inspections and related activities across the organization.

As a Delivery Support Officer, you will be responsible for providing efficient, organized, and proactive support to the Director and the wider Delivery Unit. This includes managing large data sets, handling internal and external communications, organizing meetings and travel, and maintaining diaries and inboxes. You will help coordinate inspection activities, liaise with contracted inspectors, and ensure the smooth running of day-to-day operations that align with Ofsted’s objectives.

This role is ideal for a professional who is detail-oriented, communicative, and able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Working within a collaborative and high-achieving environment, you’ll gain experience across multiple functions while contributing to Ofsted’s mission of maintaining high standards in education, childcare, and social care services across England.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to the Director and Delivery Support Team.

  • Manage large data sets, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality of information.

  • Handle diary and inbox management, meeting coordination, and travel arrangements.

  • Take minutes and distribute key action points from meetings.

  • Liaise with inspectors, stakeholders, and internal teams to facilitate smooth operations.

  • Support the planning and scheduling of inspection activities.

  • Maintain effective communication channels across various departments and external partners.

  • Assist with the coordination of cross-unit projects and the achievement of departmental goals.

  • Uphold the organization’s commitment to learning, evidence-based practice, and continuous improvement.


Required Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities, capable of handling multiple tasks concurrently.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) and the ability to learn new systems quickly.

  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail in managing data and documentation.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.

  • Understanding of prioritization, planning, and problem-solving in a fast-paced environment.

  • UK nationals

  • Republic of Ireland nationals

  • Commonwealth citizens with the right to work in the UK

  • EU/EEA/Swiss nationals with settled or pre-settled status under EUSS

  • Certain Turkish nationals with Civil Service work rights

All successful candidates will undergo baseline personnel security checks and a criminal record check prior to appointment.


Selection Process:

  • Stage 1: Application and shortlisting — based on evidence against essential criteria.

  • Stage 2: Interview — assessment against Civil Service behaviours, experience, and technical skills.

  • Interviews are expected to take place week commencing 17 November 2025 at Piccadilly Gate, Manchester.
