PortmanDentex, a leading dental care group dedicated to excellence in patient care, is currently seeking two Trainee Dental Nurses to join its Edinburgh Orthodontics practice. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals looking to begin a career in dental healthcare, with full training and development provided.

As a Trainee Dental Nurse, you will work alongside a highly skilled team of Orthodontists, Orthodontic Therapists, and experienced Dental Nurses. The role does not require previous dental experience, making it an ideal entry point for those passionate about health, well-being, and patient care. You will receive structured training supported by the practice team, with your qualification course fully funded by PortmanDentex and overseen by an external course provider.

Your responsibilities will include assisting clinicians chair-side, ensuring that the correct materials and instruments are prepared for each procedure, and providing excellent standards of patient care throughout treatment. This role will help you develop the clinical, technical, and administrative skills required to progress into a qualified Dental Nurse position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide chair-side support during clinical sessions, ensuring equipment and materials are prepared.

• Assist Orthodontists, Hygienists, and Therapists during patient treatments.

• Learn and perform high-quality dental nursing skills under supervision.

• Communicate effectively with patients and the dental team to ensure a positive patient experience.

• Follow practice processes and protocols to maintain high standards of care and compliance.

Candidate Requirements:

• GCSEs in Maths & English (grades A–C / 4–9) or equivalent Functional Skills Level 2.

• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.

• Passionate about health, well-being, and delivering high-quality patient care.

• Positive attitude, adaptability, and willingness to learn and develop professionally.
