Description:
Alexander Dennis is seeking a Diagnostic Development and Support Engineer to support their mission of evolving sustainable on-road mass transportation and mobility. The role focuses on assisting service engineers with complex vehicle faults, capturing learnings, and developing smarter diagnostic tools both on-board and off-board. You will contribute directly to improving product support in the field and enhancing diagnostic processes for engineers and customers.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the first point of contact for supporting service engineers with complex vehicle faults.
Investigate issues, document findings, and develop fault codes, guided routines, and improved diagnostic features.
Work hands-on with vehicles and test rigs to enhance diagnostic solutions.
Collaborate with teams to turn practical experience into better on-board and off-board diagnostic tools.
Requirements:
Experience configuring and customising diagnostic toolchains.
Proficiency in creating and maintaining ODX/OTX/CDD files.
Strong understanding of vehicle communication protocols: J1939, UDS, CAN, LIN, IP.
Proven problem-solving skills with the ability to simplify complex topics.
Clear and concise communication skills.
Genuine interest in vehicle technologies.
Bonus: Experience with vehicle electrical systems, V-model or structured development processes, and capturing engineering requirements.
