The programme provides support for the work of the National Police Chief’s Council (NPCC) child protection and abuse investigation (CPAI) portfolio and is the national lead for the Child Sexual Exploitation Task Force (CSE) launched by the Prime Minister earlier this year.

It is an exciting time to join a growing team who have a desire to set standards in communications and bring important public protection issues to the fore with impactful tactics.

With the inception of the CSE Taskforce we have become a public facing organisation. This brings and opportunity to bring bold new ideas that make a lasting impact internally and externally.

You will work closely with the Head of Communications and the Hydrant Programme Communications Lead to develop a digital strategy and implement new and innovative channels and content to widen reach and engagement.

We are looking for someone to bring new ideas, drive a change in narrative, support reporting and the voice of survivors.

You’ll be based at home with some travel to our base at Moss Way Police Station in Sheffield.

It is essential that applicants meet the following criteria:

  • Recent experience of working within a digital communications environment including corporate web content management and social media platforms
  • A degree qualification in a relevant discipline, and / or qualifications or demonstrable experience of using Adobe Master Collection including photoshop, InDesign, and PremierPro
  • Evidenced knowledge and experience of using different social media networks, platforms, and social media management tools to effectively reach, inform and engage a variety of audiences
  • Writing and editorial skills, with attention to detail and the ability to effectively proofread, and the ability to create engaging content
  • Analytical skills, and experience of sourcing and interpreting website, social media, and other relevant analytics
  • The ability to work independently, as well as part of a team, and to manage and deliver to multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment

The ability to take a complex and large volume of information, and distil the essential points into concise, accurate, and engaging content

It is desirable that applicants meet the following criteria:

  • Working knowledge of legislation governing accessibility requirements, and its application across digital platforms
  • Working knowledge of Media Law and its application across digital platforms, including copyright, contempt of court, and libel and defamation, and a good knowledge of relevant College of Policing APP
