Digital Product Developer

 

Description:

Reporting to the Head of Languages Content, Collins, you are responsible for product support and digital content development aligned to our digital publishing strategy and to ensure Collins remains at forefront of Language, Reference, and Educational Publishing.

Key tasks and accountabilities:Computantional Support:
 

  • Provide necessary technical and computational support to suit our digital publishing and other-income needs, including data manipulation and extraction as required
  • Manage and coordinate technical requirements with freelancers and digital partners.
     

Data and product management:
 

  • Help conceive and support delivery of our digital content, as well as new features to drive user engagement
  • Implement workflows and processes to ensure quality of data delivery is robust and accurate
  • Problem-solve to effectively address product and content challenges Best practices:
  • Use agile working principles and PM tools, such as JIRA
  • Apply best project management practices to deliver content releases
  • Implement industry practices to ensure effective documentation and procedures are used at all times
  • Keep abreast of best practices and evolve our approach on a rolling basis
     

External relationships:
 

  • Establish effective relationships with external suppliers and partners to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
     

Market knowedge and Technology:
 

  • Keep abreast of latest developments & make recommendations which can benefit product support aligned to our business needs.
  • Keep abreast of developments in the AI market, i.e. important new products from competitors as well as general trends in language learning publishing that could impact on Collins’ publishing strategy.
     

Skills required:Essential
 

  • Excellent programming skills
  • A strong understanding of digital product development
  • The ability to establish effective relationships between internal and external stakeholders, as well as excellent communication skills
  • Proactive and self-motivated with the ability to learn new skills.
