Harbourne Associates is currently seeking an experienced and visionary Director of Ecommerce to lead and shape the digital retail strategy for a key client based in London. This is a full-time, on-site role that requires a commercially driven leader with a strong background in ecommerce, online retail operations, and digital growth initiatives.

As Director of Ecommerce, the candidate will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive ecommerce strategy that maximizes online revenue, enhances customer experience, and drives brand performance across digital platforms. This includes overseeing end-to-end ecommerce operations such as merchandising, marketing, logistics, analytics, and customer engagement.

The ideal candidate should possess a deep understanding of ecommerce technology, consumer behavior in online channels, and data-driven decision-making. Leadership capabilities and cross-functional collaboration with marketing, product, logistics, and IT teams will be critical to this role’s success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and execute a robust ecommerce growth strategy aligned with business goals.

  • Manage daily ecommerce operations including product listings, promotions, order fulfillment, and logistics.

  • Analyze sales performance, customer behavior, and digital funnel metrics to optimize conversion and retention.

  • Oversee SEO, SEM, social media, and other online marketing initiatives to drive traffic and engagement.

  • Collaborate with marketing and creative teams to enhance digital customer journeys and improve UX/UI.

  • Ensure platform stability and lead improvements in website functionality, speed, and responsiveness.

  • Forecast, track, and report on ecommerce KPIs and provide actionable insights to senior stakeholders.

  • Build and manage a high-performing ecommerce team, fostering a culture of innovation and accountability.

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience in an ecommerce leadership role, preferably within retail or consumer products.

  • Strong commercial acumen with a track record of growing online revenue.

  • Deep understanding of ecommerce platforms (e.g., Shopify, Magento, Salesforce Commerce Cloud).

  • Proficiency in analytics tools such as Google Analytics, Tableau, or similar.

  • Experience managing online marketing campaigns (PPC, SEO, social media, email).

  • Excellent leadership, project management, and cross-functional coordination skills.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, data-driven environment.
