About The Role

In this exciting high profile role reporting to our Executive Team, you will lead on identified Charity-wide nursing priorities including professional standards and practice, nursing strategy and competencies, nursing establishment and rostering, patient safety, IPC, and projects as agreed with the Executive Team. You will also collaborate on nursing education in partnership with our Education, Research and Training group colleagues.

You will work with the leadership team and provide strategic nursing input across the Charity, to assure appropriate advice is provided to ensure the consistent delivery of high quality, safe and effective services where service users and their families/carers report a positive experience.

You will ensure all aspects of nursing management are visibly led and that the Charity Executive, Board of Directors, Quality and Safety Committee, and external bodies receive appropriate and regular monitoring information as required.

As the DIPC, you will work with the Infection Control Team to ensure that all elements relevant to the Health and Social Care Act (2008) are in place and have the authority and responsibility to ensure that strategies are implemented to prevent avoidable healthcare associated infections.

You will also provide strong, visible and compassionate leadership and direction to all senior nurse leaders and other professionals in relation to evidence based mental health and nursing practice.

About You

You will bring proven senior experience of nursing leadership, practice development and consistent achievement ideally in a mental health setting. You’ll need exceptional interpersonal skills, a passion for quality and inclusion and the ability to build, manage and develop effective working relationships with a wide range of internal and external partners.

You will be a recognised and respected expert in mental health or learning disability nursing and have a strong track record in delivering innovative solutions in nursing care.

With high levels of personal integrity you will be well experienced in winning hearts and minds. You will also be highly adept at managing effective relationships up to Board level and with external partners and commissioners.

You will have both the breadth and depth of skills to fulfil the role described above and high levels of resilience to lead and embed change.
