Gallagher Bassett, a global leader in risk and claims management, is seeking skilled and experienced Disease Claims Handlers to join their dedicated team in Newcastle Upon Tyne on a 3-month fixed-term contract. This position is ideal for professionals with a background in managing complex disease claims who are eager to make a real impact in helping claimants achieve the best outcomes for their health and wellbeing.

As a Disease Claims Handler, you will manage a portfolio of disease-related claims from inception to resolution. These may include conditions such as Asbestosis, Mesothelioma, and Hand-Arm Vibration Syndrome (HAVS). The role involves conducting detailed investigations, maintaining proactive communication with all stakeholders, and minimizing litigation risks through efficient and empathetic claims management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage complex disease-related claims from start to finish, ensuring thorough investigation and timely resolution.

• Conduct in-depth policy investigations to identify potential recovery or liability opportunities.

• Apply a proactive approach to claims management to prevent and reduce litigation risks.

• Maintain effective communication with clients, solicitors, medical professionals, and internal stakeholders.

• Prepare accurate documentation and detailed reports for internal and external reviews.

• Ensure full compliance with company procedures, data protection standards, and industry regulations.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in claims handling, particularly within disease-related claims.

• Strong background in Employer’s Liability (EL) and Public Liability (PL) claims management.

• Comprehensive understanding of medical and legal terminology relevant to disease claims.

• Strong analytical and investigative skills to evaluate complex claim details.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Eligible to work in the United Kingdom.
