Document Controller

 

Description:

Balfour Beatty has an exciting opportunity for a Document Controller to join their Regional Buildings team in Birmingham. This role involves managing and controlling all project and site documentation for one or more sites, ensuring compliance with established standards and seamless collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage document control requirements across projects, ensuring compliance with the Business Management System (BMS).
  • Identify and address contractual requirements related to document control.
  • Collaborate with project teams to develop, update, and maintain project databases.
  • Ensure efficient documentation control from preconstruction through project handover and archiving.
  • Train team members on documentation procedures and ensure compliance.
  • Enhance and improve existing document control procedures and systems.
  • Monitor business archiving processes, ensuring efficient storage and accessibility of documentation.
  • Provide regular feedback to project managers regarding documentation issues and escalate as needed.

Who We’re Looking For

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with internal teams, clients, and supply chain partners.
  • Proficient in IT systems, especially the Business Collaborator EDMS.
  • Analytical and data-conscious, capable of managing databases effectively.
  • Excellent planning, organization, and determination to complete tasks.
  • Collaborative approach, understanding the broader implications of project operations.
