An exciting opportunity has arisen for a finance professional to join the Energy Customer Solutions Finance team. This dynamic finance team supports the GB Business area of Energy Customer Solutions within SSE. You will join our team of 5 dedicated and ambitious colleagues based out of our Perth office with blended homeworking following SSE's Flexible working guidelines. With a finance function of over 200, there are lots of opportunities for finance professionals and SSE is committed to our development.

The role will support the financial reporting, general accounting and period closing activities of a P&L delivering £3.8billion in annual turnover. The business and the Corporate Finance function is undergoing an exciting transformation program to allow this business unit and the Group achieve it's NZAP targets.

The Main Responsibilities Of The Role Will Include

• Assisting with a broad range of Financial Control activities - including, but not limited to; journal posting and preparation of management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, involvement in the half year and year end audit including preparation of statutory accounts and liaising with the auditors.
• Supporting delivery of internal management and cashflow reporting and forecasting, external regulatory reporting, project work and continuous improvement for Energy Customer Solutions.
• Supporting the preparation and delivery of monthly and quarterly regulatory financial reporting to Ofgem.
• Building strong relationships both internally and externally working closely with the Commercial, Energy Economics and Treasury teams to ensure accurate reporting and service levels are met.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

• Relevant accounting experience gained from working in a similar operational finance role.
• Attention to detail and ability to analyse and interpret data.
• Fully qualified accountant with knowledge of relevant financial reporting regulations including IFRS9 and IFRS15.
• Strong Office 365 skills (financial modelling experience desirable).
• Knowledge of general accounting procedures and core financial systems (Oracle desirable).
