Educational Psychologist

 

Description:

Compass Associates is partnering with a leading Children's Care and Specialist Education provider to recruit a dedicated HCPC-registered Psychologist. The organization operates residential services, specialist schools, and activity centers supporting children and young people with complex needs, including Learning Disabilities, Autism, Emotional and Behavioral Difficulties (EBD), Trauma, and Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE) histories.

This role involves direct clinical work, assessments, supervision, and training, collaborating with a multidisciplinary therapeutic team, including Psychologists, Occupational Therapists (OTs), Speech and Language Therapists (SALTs), and Creative Arts Therapists. The successful candidate will work closely with Assistant and Trainee Psychologists, under the guidance of a Clinical Lead and Associate Clinical Director.

Key Responsibilities:

✔ Provide psychological assessments and interventions for children in residential and educational settings.
✔ Support therapeutic planning and multidisciplinary collaboration with care and education teams.
✔ Offer training, supervision, and guidance to Assistant and Trainee Psychologists.
✔ Work alongside a therapeutic team to promote positive mental health and well-being.
✔ Maintain clinical records and contribute to treatment planning.

Work Pattern & Location:

Hybrid Working – Home-based with fieldwork in Portsmouth and surrounding areas.
Flexible Schedule – 37.5 hours/week (option for a 4-day condensed contract).
Travel – Approximately 2-3 days remote and 2-3 days on-site, depending on needs.

Required Experience & Skills:

🎯 HCPC Registration – as a Clinical, Counselling, Forensic, or Educational Psychologist.
🎯 Experience working within Children’s Services, Education, Residential Care, or CAMHS.
🎯 Strong understanding of child development, trauma, autism, and behavioral challenges.
🎯 Ability to work independently while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

Compensation & Benefits:

💰 Salary up to £63000 per annum, based on experience and qualifications.
