Electrical Design Engineer

Premier Group is currently hiring a Junior Electrical Design Engineer on behalf of an established company operating in the industrial automation sector. This permanent position is ideal for individuals seeking to build a strong career in electrical design engineering. The role offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with PLC wiring, electrical schematics, and control systems, along with exposure to commissioning and safety validation processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and generate control schematic diagrams, PLC wiring diagrams, and I/O schedules

• Create panel layouts, LV distribution, and cable block diagrams

• Perform instrument loop diagrams and assist with cable calculations

• Aid in project commissioning and safety validation

• Liaise with on-site teams to ensure project deadlines are met

Key Requirements:

• BTEC and/or NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline

• Good understanding of safety circuits, machine safety, and ideally SIL/PL ratings (training can be provided)

• Working knowledge of PLC control wiring, motor starter controls, and instrumentation

• Experience with AutoCAD and Amtech is beneficial

• Full UK Driving Licence is required
