Electrical Design Engineer

Description:

Airbus is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join the Commercial Aircraft Test Centre in Filton. The successful candidate will support the development and maintenance of Fuel and Landing Gear test rigs, contributing to the certification and validation of avionics and system functions. This role also plays a key part in Airbus’s decarbonisation efforts, including sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and liquid hydrogen (LH2) exploration.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop electrical architectural design solutions, schematics, and component specifications.

• Define instrumentation requirements (pressure, flow, voltage, current, etc.) including signal conditioning and power supply needs.

• Deliver large-scale electrical design projects as part of a multidisciplinary team.

• Provide technical support for in-service test benches and diagnose electrical issues.

• Design, test, verify, and document modifications to systems and test rigs.

• Ensure compliance with BPSS and Export Control requirements.

Qualifications:

• Proficiency in electrical design tools (AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, KiCAD).

• Strong understanding of electrical design principles and system architectures.

• Knowledge of testing principles, instrumentation definition and design.

• Understanding of avionic hardware interfaces (discretes, analogues).

• Ability to obtain BPSS clearance and pass Export Control checks.
