Electrical Project Engineer

Description:

Mane Contract Services is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to join their client, a leading engineering contractor specializing in Life Science projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing electrical engineering projects within Life Sciences or Data Center sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and liaise effectively with key project stakeholders including client design teams, main contractors, suppliers, and subcontractors to support engineering requirements.

• Review and fully understand design and IFC specifications and drawings to comprehend the complete scope of electrical works.

• Collaborate with BIM personnel to coordinate and convert design intent into construction-ready installation drawings, ensuring adherence to specifications and project schedules.

• Track and manage the project schedule to align engineering activities such as procurement and approvals with the overall construction program.

• Prepare and issue technical submittals, monitor approvals, and coordinate with vendors on technical queries and value engineering opportunities.

• Oversee electrical material procurement, including take-offs, lead time identification, and site delivery scheduling, utilizing the Engineering Materials Report (EMR).

• Manage the procurement and tracking of electrical equipment to ensure timely site delivery.

• Ensure all electrical installations comply with project specifications, quality assurance/control benchmarks, and participate in benchmarking processes.

• Conduct regular site audits to enforce adherence to safety, quality, and procedural standards.

• Define and agree on project completion criteria and manage the preparation of project close-out documentation.

• Assist in preparing sub-contract and supplier tender packages in coordination with quantity surveyors.

• Oversee the full lifecycle management of electrical work packages from development through implementation to final handover.

• Manage BIM deliverables, including the generation and release of electrical isometrics and drawings.

• Liaise with clients, prepare technical reports, and communicate project updates to directors and stakeholders.

• Organize and participate in project meetings, training sessions, and workshops as required.

• Coordinate with client project management and other contractors to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory electrical requirements.

• Provide ongoing technical support to the construction team throughout the project delivery phase.

Candidate Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience with a recognized electrical contractor in a process-driven environment, preferably in Life Sciences or Data Center projects.

• Strong organizational, project planning, and multitasking abilities.

• Excellent communication and collaborative teamwork skills.

• Proven problem-solving, negotiation, and decision-making capabilities.

• Proficiency in Navisworks and engineering database systems.

• Experience with project planning software such as Primavera P6.

• Familiarity with CAD/BIM processes and tools.
