Emergency Department Registrar

Description:

Frontier Consulting, a division of Tripod Group and a trusted supplier to national NHS framework agreements, is seeking an Emergency Department Registrar to join a busy regional hospital located on the scenic coast of Western Australia. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop broad emergency medicine skills in a hands-on, supportive environment with exposure to diverse and complex cases, procedural training, and consultant-led supervision.

As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality emergency care to a varied patient population, including trauma cases, rural and remote presentations, and Indigenous health concerns. The hospital is a key referral centre for the region, featuring modern facilities, a helipad for RFDS transfers, and close links to tertiary centres in Perth for advanced support and retrievals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct timely assessment, treatment, and management of emergency department presentations.

• Perform critical emergency procedures including airway management, trauma resuscitation, and point-of-care ultrasound under supervision.

• Liaise with consultants and inpatient teams for admissions, transfers, and referrals.

• Supervise and mentor junior medical staff and medical students.

• Participate in clinical teaching, simulation training, and departmental audits.

• Ensure comprehensive documentation, effective communication, and robust discharge planning.

Essential Criteria:

• General registration or eligibility under the competent authority pathway with AHPRA.

• Minimum of 3 years post-graduate clinical experience, including time in emergency medicine.

• Strong clinical knowledge and sound decision-making in acute care settings.

• Proven ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and time-management skills.
