Employment Knowledge Lawyer

SSQ, a globally recognized legal recruitment and consultancy firm, is seeking an Employment Knowledge Lawyer (also known as a Professional Support Lawyer – PSL) to join a leading employment team in London. This is a non-fee-earning role that offers flexible working arrangements and a part-time option (e.g., 0.8 FTE), making it an ideal opportunity for experienced employment lawyers seeking balance and high-quality work.

The firm is known for its high-calibre client base, cross-border employment law expertise, and a collaborative, partner-led culture. The team handles a comprehensive range of employment legal matters, including:

• High Court and Tribunal litigation

• HR advisory services

• SMCR compliance and internal investigations

• TUPE transfers and M&A support

• Global restructuring projects

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead internal legal training programs and knowledge-sharing initiatives

• Monitor legal and regulatory changes (horizon scanning)

• Develop and maintain knowhow systems and databases

• Support technical excellence and continuous improvement across the practice

• Draft and review external thought leadership, client briefings, and legal updates

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• Qualified solicitor with 4+ years PQE in employment law

• Currently in or looking to transition into a knowledge lawyer/PSL role

• Deep understanding of UK employment law and cross-border issues

• Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills

• A proactive team player who values autonomy, quality of work, and work-life balance
