Energy Research Scientist

Description:

This 12.5-month placement offers undergraduates the opportunity to develop Lean process knowledge within the Airbus Operating System (AOS). Working with experienced change-management teams, the student will support multiple functions—including Safety, Quality, Logistics, Programme Planning, and Manufacturing Engineering—while contributing to continuous improvement across A320 and A350 production lines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct detailed Value Stream Analyses to improve product flow.

• Facilitate Kaizen events to identify and remove waste.

• Coach operational and functional leaders on Lean standards.

• Use AOS and Airbus project management tools to drive improvements.

• Work autonomously as a Change Agent within a designated business area.

• Support continuous improvement initiatives across product lines.

Qualifications:

• Must be an Undergraduate student for the full placement duration.

• Studying toward a degree in:

  • Aerospace Engineering

  • Manufacturing Engineering

  • Business

  • Or a related field

• Basic knowledge of Lean Management.

• Strong teamwork ability.
