Engagement Manager

Description:

Key Responsibilities

This role offers the opportunity to take a lead in delivering change to contribute to A Modern Civil Service. Building on the actions from the 2021 Declaration, the focus is now on five key missions for reform. These are areas where we can collectively drive forward change to unlock improvements across the Civil Service. The way these changes are made will differ from one department to the next, in line with their specific priorities and operating contexts. The post holder will work with Civil Service communications and department internal communications teams to support change and ensure change is visible for staff.

  • Support the engagement strategy for the modernisation and reform programme to achieve cross-government ownership of reform and support the realisation of programme objectives
  • Lead on high impact cross-government communications for the modernisation and reform programme in collaboration with Civil Service Communications (including content development and team input to targeted campaigns and events such as Civil Service Live and the Civil Service Awards)
  • Develop the brand and narrative for A Modern Civil service linking to the spirit of public service and other cross government campaigns
  • Ensure insights from across departments, agencies, professions, functions and regions support ongoing policy and programme development and are surfaced with Ministers and the senior leadership of the Civil Service
  • Role model the change we want to see across the Civil Service, contributing to an inclusive team culture that supports individuals to prioritise up-skill themselves, rewards innovation and encourages breaking down barriers to collaboration
