Engineer To Associate Director

Description:

Hoare Lea is offering exciting opportunities for Fire Engineers at all levels, from Engineer to Associate Director, to join their offices in Bristol, Glasgow, London, and Manchester. The role involves working on some of the UK’s largest and most high-profile projects as part of multi-disciplinary teams, with opportunities for independent work and long-term client engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with colleagues across Hoare Lea and manage a portfolio of external clients.

• Attend design team meetings, workshops, client meetings, and site visits.

• Travel to projects within the UK and occasionally internationally.

• Use software analysis tools for evacuation, smoke and fire modelling, heat radiation, and structural fire modelling.

• Produce design deliverables including specifications, drawings, and schedules.

• Maintain regular communication with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely delivery.

• Support project financials, including invoicing, debt management, and workload/resource planning.

• Mentor and support apprentices and graduate engineers.

Candidate Requirements:

• Relevant degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Building Services, Maths, Architecture, or Physics.

• Proven experience in a fire engineering consultancy role.

• Strong technical knowledge in fire safety design and fire modelling software.

• Excellent communication and team-working skills.

• Ability to meet demanding timescales with strong organisational and planning skills.

• Chartered Engineer status required for roles above Associate level.
