Engineering Manager

 

Description:

Reporting to the Bipolar Product Group Manager, the role will be responsible for managing and developing a team of process engineers covering silicon wafer fabrication, assembly and test. The key objectives of the team are to ensure process H&S standards are maintained, timely production line support, and continuous improvement on process yield & efficiency.

  • Ensure provision of health and safety support to production through specification of safe procedures, along with risk and COSHH assessment support.
  • Lead, coach & develop a team of process engineers.
  • Identify process yield and efficiency improvement opportunities and lead team to complete improvement projects.
  • New product optimisation, characterization and qualification tests.
  • Technical support to customer enquiries.
  • Customer return reports and failure analysis
  • Manage technical assessment of new materials suppliers or parts, including sample approvals, and provide technical support of supplier visits and audits were required
  • Apply standard problem-solving methods to resolve technical issues and ensure containment actions are applied to maintain customer supply
  • Arrange to run product type tests or quality assurance trials as necessary to maintain product and process quality control
  • Approve product or process changes in line with Dynex CRB procedures
  • Ensure provision of routine technical support to production including equipment set up issues or approval after repair, product or process quality queries, test data sign off, operator training sign off etc.

ABOUT YOU
We are looking for an experienced Process Engineering Manager who has experience working in a similar environment and with proven management skills of developing a team. To be considered for the role you require:

  • Extensive working experience within the power semiconductor industry or relevant applications
  • Degree or equivalent in one of the following subjects; physics, power electronics, electrical and electronic engineering, mechanical engineering or materials science
  • Proven experience of leading an engineering team
  • Industrial experience of manufacturing processes for power semiconductor devices
  • Proven experience of leading and completing improvement projects on time
  • Proactive to drive improvements and influence others to deliver results
  • Problem solving skills
  • LEAN or 6-Sigma certification
  • Financial awareness and experience of managing budgets.
