Description:
Proofpoint, a global leader in people-centric cybersecurity, is seeking a Senior Sales Engineering Specialist to join its People Protection Group (PPG), specializing in Impersonation Protection solutions such as Email Fraud Defense, Secure Email Relay, and Supplier Threat Protection Takedown. Proofpoint is trusted by over half a million customers, including 87 of the Fortune 100 and more than half of the Fortune 1000, to protect their organizations against evolving threats.
In this high-impact and visible role, you will be instrumental in building and sustaining deep customer relationships, acting as a trusted technical advisor while driving the adoption of Proofpoint’s advanced security solutions. You will work in close collaboration with field sales teams and extended cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment of customer business objectives with Proofpoint’s product capabilities.
As a Senior Sales Engineer, you will lead technical engagements, provide solution designs, validate architectures, and deliver impactful product demonstrations and Proof-of-Value (PoV) exercises. You will also contribute to business case development, proposal preparation, RFP responses, ROI/TCO justifications, and enablement of broader Proofpoint Sales Engineers. Additionally, you will be a subject matter expert and go-to specialist for Impersonation Protection technologies, providing technical insights, competitive intelligence, and product feedback to Proofpoint’s product and engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Partner with sales teams to develop and deliver tailored security solutions addressing customer needs.
Build and maintain strong consultative relationships, becoming a trusted advisor to senior executives, technical managers, and engineers.
Present Proofpoint’s value propositions, product strategy, and roadmaps confidently to diverse audiences.
Conduct solution design, architecture drawings, validation, demos, and PoV activities.
Support RFP responses, proposals, and due diligence processes.
Enable and mentor broader Proofpoint Sales Engineers, sharing expertise and best practices.
Contribute to creating technical content, artifacts, and the product feedback loop.
Stay current with cybersecurity trends, enterprise applications, cloud, and systems management technologies.
Requirements:
Minimum 3 years of experience in Pre-sales, consulting, or technical customer-facing roles in the high-tech industry.
Strong expertise in enterprise applications, security, cloud, or systems management.
Excellent communication, presentation, and consultative selling skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Experienced in working with quota-driven field sales teams.
Passion for technology, customer engagement, and cybersecurity.
