Flourish Education are Recruiting an English teacher to work in a Secondary school in the South Birmingham area close to the Worcestershire border, to start in September covering a Maternity. This English Teacher role is full-time and will also involve teaching film studies up to Key Stage 5. Our client has a great ethos and a good local reputation, they have an extremely supportive staff team and have excellent resources available to help support you across both subjects.

A successful English teacher will have excellent subject knowledge and ideally be familiar with teaching film studies. Whole class teaching responsibilities will be required including planning, marking, and attending CPD sessions.

This English Teacher role is due to start in September 2023 and is covering Maternity leave.

• QTS- Qualified Teacher Status in English
• ECTs (early career Teachers) are encouraged to apply.
• Experience teaching in a UK Secondary School
• Excellent subject knowledge of English
• Able to teach English up to Key Stage 4

• A strong school reference from your recent employer

Responsibilities as an English teacher

• Whole class teaching responsibilities including planning and marking.
• Driving improvements in English GCSE grades
• Monitoring and ensuring pupil progress.
• Maintain strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
• Act as a Form Tutor
• Engage in faculty trips and learning outside of the classroom.
• Create an attractive and stimulating learning environment which is refreshed frequently.
