Description:
The UK Ministry of Defence is seeking a highly skilled Health, Safety, and Environmental Protection (HS&EP) Manager to join the Defence Intelligence JCG Team. This role involves overseeing operational locations both in the UK and overseas, ensuring that safety, health, and environmental standards are maintained at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
Risk Management: Proactively assess workplace risks to prevent incidents.
Policy Implementation: Enforce safety policies across the JCG consistently.
Incident Investigation: Advise on investigation processes to determine root causes and prevent future accidents.
Compliance Monitoring: Ensure adherence to HS&EP legislation and provide assurance reports to Commanders.
Culture Building: Promote a positive safety culture across the organisation.
Audit & Assurance: Conduct audits, inspections, and report findings to management.
Hazard Identification: Identify and mitigate potential workplace hazards.
Legal Protection: Maintain high safety standards to minimize legal risks.
Fire Safety: Act as conduit for fire safety information and guidance.
Person Specification:
Strong focus on health, safety, and environmental protection.
Attention to detail and analytical skills for hazard assessment.
Excellent communication and leadership qualities.
Adaptable, problem-solving mindset and continuous learning.
Capable of delivering HS&EP training and development.
Qualifications & Memberships:
NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent Level 6 qualification.
National Fire Safety Qualification (NEBOSH Level 3 or equivalent).
ISO45001 Lead Auditor.
IEMA Foundation Certificate in Environmental Management.
Minimum Technical Member of IOSH (Tech IOSH).
